The Secret Superstar

In 2017, I watched a movie called “Secret Superstar” which touched my heart deeply as I resonated with the female protagonist having a passion for singing and finding the right platform for her. The right ending should have been something like this –

Insia Malik got famous with her first song and became a Rockstar. She got a big offer from magnanimous producers in the industry and didn’t hesitate to tell this big news to her mom Najma and her brother Guddu about this all.

She came back home and hugged her mother tightly with a spark of joy and brought gifts for Guddu, seeing which he promises his sister to never tease her again and supports her passion for singing.

Najma had cooked her favorite dish to enjoy her first step towards singing. Insia thanked her and expressed her gratitude to her for standing up for her dream of becoming a renowned singer.

[Next Day]

Insia’s father Farook still had three days to return home and proved to be a favorable chance for her to shoot a video introducing her mother who acted as a backbone.

In the meanwhile, she received a call from Shakti Kumar to persuade her mother to sign the divorce papers with her father. At last, Insia finally manages to take all the responsibility for giving her mother a better life away from the former's violent father.

Insia’s mother signed the divorce papers and Shakti Kumar exposed the truth of her Farookh and his violent practices on his wife. Farookh was put behind the bars, sentencing to jail for the next twenty-five years.

{Next Month}

Insia, Guddu, and her mother Najma moved to Mumbai where Shakti Kumar gifts them a villa and they were amazed to see their own property as they belonged to a lower-middle-class family. Insia and her mother’s dream was coming true and they had high hopes for themselves. Guddu and her sister were enrolled in a good school in Mumbai and were supported by Shakti Kumar.

Despite her daily school, Insia practiced her music lessons daily and got amazing offers from music producers because of her raw voice. One step of courage resulted in a bright side of her life which she had never seen and opened her heart for the first time.

[Recording Day]

The day came in her life where she was exposed as the secret superstar and everybody got to know her after his second recording. Insia got very famous in her school as well as in the music industry.

She was nominated for the Filmfare awards under the category of the best female singer.

[Award Ceremony]

The trio happily goes to the award ceremony and the moment comes when the winner is to be announced. Fortunately, Insia’s name is called and she bursts into tears and hugs her mother. Insia happily receives her award and finally steps into the music industry and starts working very hard to become an established singer one day.
